An early-twentieth-century composition, a little dreamlike. An entrance house opens onto Nguyễn Trãi, the Citadel’s main street; behind it, a principal axis unfolds across the lake toward the mountains. In season, the lotus is not something you go out to see: it is there when you open the shutters.
Inside the walls nothing may rise higher than the King’s gates, so the hotel keeps to three levels: a garden floor, a balcony floor, and the suites under the roof.
